I love this whole series. We talked about it before, but looking at them again, and viewing some of them that I hadn't seen yet, I find myself laughing with some of them, feeling aroused by some of them, disturbed by others, sad, curious -- they are very emotionally provocative, with just a twist of irony, silliness, or self-consciousness for good measure. I don't think a young artist could do these -- they're working on too many levels.
People are my inspiration. The human form, in its many poses, excites me. Although I am moved by the natural places that we sentient beings discover, cultivate or trod on, I love more to paint us in these settings.
