Artist Statement for Nude Studies

Eventhough, after 24 years, I gave up my clinical practice of family medicine in 6/06, I have not abandoned my love for the person and the emotion in the human form. As my pastels take days to complete, and therefore compel me to work some from life, but mostly from photographic references, I find it exciting to work only from a model and accomplish whatever I can in a short (1-2 hour) period of time. These pastels and pencil drawings are examples of this.
